EURO 2008 Final
.jpg)
OK2.. So the finals was not between the Dutch and Deutschland as I had predicted. Going into the game, I wanted Germany to win the EURO as they had been the one I supported for this version of the tournament. (it changes from every international tourney to another LOL :D) They had been playing some good football to get to the final stage, and they even managed to beat Portugal on the way (more reason to cheer them on :D). So...
Finals: Germany vs Spain
Hmm.. It's not that entertaining of a football match. Germany played very very very very poorly. Their defence line were exhausted by the fact that every Spain attack tortured every inch of their fitness. They barely make any chances.
They gelled very well as a team, and through the brilliance of Xavi Hernandez and a certain Fernando "El Nino" Torres, they manage to edge Germany by that single, crucial goal - the winning goal. Xavi played an early pass through the middle in between 2 German defenders, and El Nino - showing that he doesn't lack any strength for a rather skinny striker - managed to outmuscle Phillip Lahm and cleverly chipped pass the incoming keeper called Jens Clumsimann (or was it Jens Blundermann? or Jens Cumbersomemann? I kinda forgot O_O) YOU HAD TO GET OUT OF YOUR LINE DIDN'T YOU?! YOU JUST HAD TO! I mean, he would've done Germany a lot more favour by staying put in goal. Even though Lahm was outmuscled, Torres and the ball just barely entered the near-post penalty area, with little angle on goal. Lahm would've managed to retain ground on and hold off Torres for a couple more seconds for another defender to come help. BUT NO! YOU JUST HAD TO DO THAT! ASFJFSGHFHFKSHKDHAJKDHKADHKHSD~~!!!!!! :(((((((( Well, that was the most telling point of the game. Nothing else is worth mentioning.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Jens Clodhoppermann. Retiring was a wise decision... :(

Iker Casillas lifts the trophy for Spain and became the first captain-goalkeeper to do so in a EURO finals. And Spain break their hoodoo of underachievers. It's their first major tournament win since 1964 (in which they won the same tournament on home soil). Spain also became the first team in 24 years to go unbeaten in their group stage and win EURO at the same time (France last did it on 1984). Some records...
So, I never predicted who would win this match since I was lazy to do so. I just wanted Germany to win, but in the end they didn't. GG WP to Spain for playing a great football on the night, and also throughout the tournament. This Spain team holds high hopes from now on as they have many young players that could conjure more magic in future tournaments. They seem to have mature as a team since disappointing me during the last World Cup :(.
Congratulations EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS SPAIN! :D

EURO 2008 Playoffs

So I just watch the final matches of the group stages and just thought of making a note of my prediction somewhere, and I thought of no better place than this...
EURO 2008
OK here's the story so far. I didn't watched all matches actually, since I missed some of them due to exams and tiredness... But I've manage to watch the ones I found important and interesting (let's face it, not all people find it enjoyable to watch the 0-0s and 1-0s).
Here's the brief-est of review for the group stage: -OK here's the story so far. I didn't watched all matches actually, since I missed some of them due to exams and tiredness... But I've manage to watch the ones I found important and interesting (let's face it, not all people find it enjoyable to watch the 0-0s and 1-0s).
(first placed listed first and followed by runners up of the group...duh!)
Group A - Portugal and Turkey
Group B - Croatia and Germany
Group C - Netherlands and Italy
Group D - Spain and Russia
And the quarterfinals brackets looks like this: -
QF1 - Portugal vs Germany
QF2 - Croatia vs Turkey
QF3 - Netherlands vs Russia
QF4 - Spain vs Italy
So, the Portuguese found it not that hard at all and manage to qualify for the playoffs with a consecutive wins in their first two matches. They top the group and faces runners-up of Group B, Germany. Oh God have I not predicted this in the face of Pet! I told him exactly that the Germans would lose a game, came second place and meet up with his Portugal team. Right on the money I'd say! :DDD Now that the Portuguese have a hard encounter for the quarterfinal, I couldn't be all the more happier! Come to think of it, it's quite hard to not be biased on predicting this match as my hatred for the faggot, that is Ronaldo, surpasses everything (except maybe for Drogba and Mikael
Next!! Turkey vs Croatia. An interesting tie here. Turkey manage to muster a great comeback against the Czechs in what I consider their best match in the group stage (it's the only match of the Turks I watched anyway oO lul). But they played really well against the Czechs - passing the ball around, keeping possessions, great build ups and hitting on the counter-attack - just the way I like it. They played convincingly and thoroughly deserved their spot for the playoffs. Now, on to Croatia. OK honesty, I haven't watched a single match of them. But surely being the reason why England failed to qualify for EURO2008 is something to brag? Well, I guess so. And they didn't just stop there, mind you. They thumped their group with a 100% record, with wins against Germany, Poland and Austria. WOW, these guys must be good... err not really! IMO, besides the win against Germany, I don't think there's anything to brag about. But that doesn't mean they should be underestimated. Hmm, so....I give Turkey the upperhand as their performance against the Czechs was something worth pointing out. They just need to stop leaking goals and they'll be all set for further advancements in the tournament.
Netherlands vs Russia eh? Hmm.. The Russians played very well against Sweden in the last game of their group, and that's about the only game I watched that concerns them lol. Their movements with the ball in that game was impressive, and was unlucky to not finish the game with more than the 2 goals they scored. They really manage to conjure up a handful of clearcut chances, and both their goals was from great build ups. It was kinda like watching VP.DotA slaughter SK.DotA in a grand final a couple of months back. Yeah, the Russians played that good. And with a manager like Guus Hiddink, surely Russia can proceed further than the quarters no? Well, not when you meet Netherlands aka Holland aka Dutch aka whatever. Netherlands pretty much dominated their group with the most goals so far (9) and conceding only ONE! (WTF?! so pro!) They are one of two teams that I have my eyes on in this version of EURO (the Germans being the other) and the way they ripped through their group is just pure massacre. Being in the so called "group of death", they were written off early on. But come on, it's only France and Italy (and Romania) in the group. The Flying Dutchmen soared their groups easily with full points and not losing a game and, not to mention, played a superb all round football. What's so "death" about it? oO So, I predict a Dutch win (not really biased, but I think that the Russians won't be able to cope with the Dutch).
The last match for the quarterfinals is Spain vs Italy. LOLOLOL?! Was this even necessary? Spain, hands down. Duh!
And with that, the Semifinals should look like this: -
SF1 - Germany vs Turkey
SF2 - Netherlands vs Spain
And being very very "unbiased", I predict a Holland vs Deutschland finals. Hahaha.. :DD
Actually, what I predicted for the finals is as below: -
Germany vs Netherlands
Croatia vs Netherlands
And I crossed out the other two as both of them have a really outside chance of making it further than where they are currently. But, maybe with a little bit more desire, will and determination to win, why not them? I mean, Greece won it last time. Yes...Greece! Rememberrr? Sooooo, why not Turkey? Why not Croatia? :D
P/S: Don't take my comments seriously kkkk? But do take note of my predictions, might win you some greens LOL.
P/S 2: I finally posted a new entry rofl...
P/S 3: Formatting and perfecting a post is tiring... zzzzz

18/01/2008
Not a good day of futsal really... Played badly most of the time, even though manage to score 3 goals in different games.. Overall, it's just a bad day of futsal... gg
P/S: I wonder when will I play with my former high-school mates again... Only some of them are on a holiday, but most of the others still have classes... I've always had loads of fun playing with the lot.. I hope we'll play again anytime soon..

Mid-Terms
Multimedia Technology & Design - 14/01/2008
What a sucky paper.. This is like Computer Application last sem. Could you believe there are questions about shortcuts? Damn lame zzzz... The structured and short essay questions didn't even help my day one bit. Crap! "The disadvantages of the growth in multimedia - wtf is that?! Plain suck...
-----------------
Structured Programming - 16/01/2008
Honestly, I thought that it was going to be wayyyyyyyy easy. But it turned out to be decent. I can answer all, of course, but some questions needed me to think a bit. I think I nailed this one though. Haha!

Islamic Studies - 18/01/2008
Just when I thought it'll be a good day, I forgot to bring my matric card to college -_-... Had to pay RM5 to get an authorization letter so that I can enter the examination hall... But wth, RM5??!!! Burned like that... They sure know how to make money.. Flat broke already T_T... And even worse, it doesn't seem like the lecturer checked matric card because my friend said that he had his in his pocket all the time... ZZZZzzz... And to add to my misery, the paper was........
Easyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy......!!! ^_^
Hehh it's not a bad after all, just that I lost RM5... T___T

Data Communications and Networking - 21/01/2008
A really hot afternoon.. Not such a good weather, certainly not one that I like.. Entered the frigging hall, and answered the paper... Objectives and T/F questions, I nailed... But the structured part, I flopped, big-time.. I think there's at least 15 marks that I lost for the structured section T_T... It's my fault I guess, for not reading the book the past few days when I had the time... When answering the structured questions, I had no mood whatsoever to think, seriously moodless.. I knew I had read about the effectiveness of data communication, but because I can't think well enough, I answered it wrongly.. 6 marks gone... Then, there's a 7 marks question about the OSI Layer.. More or less, I think I could get only around 2 or 3 marks for this... But this depends, on the generosity of my lecturer I guess, because I didn't answered that question quite convincingly either.. lul.. hmm..
Anyhow, hope that I won't get low marks...

So, my mid-terms have finished.. Got 6 days off for relaxation, though I wonder if I can do just that since I have to go to S'pore for awhile.. Journey there has always been tiring to me, not to mention that it's very uneventful there. Before going there, I still have one thing to take care off.....

Great night for footie...
Futsal - 11/1/2008 9.00 pm onwards
Just got back from futsal around half an hour ago or so. It was a great 2 hours long of futsal (switching teams every 3 goals of course >_>). But it was still a great night of futsal for me. I felt that it was my best night of futsal in the college - played really crappy before this. I scored quite a number of goals tonight, and more importantly, set up quite a number goals also.
After playing a couple of games, I was so damn tired. Quite surprising, because last week we played one hour and a half, and I didn't felt this much fatigue. Rested for awhile (since I was in a losing team), and got a little bit of energy left. Then, things started to look good for me. My team won 4-5 straight games, before losing again. The longest record for today (I think.. lol).
Nevertheless, I played quite well in all those games - scoring a beautiful left footed curler (top corner, mind you :P, - and against my brother *^^%^%$^%# pawnzzorz!!), a couple of part-toe-poker, part-outside foot shot, a couple of easy tap-ins and made some goals for my fellow mates. Somehow, today I felt some improvements on my football/futsal skill - I can made shots with my outside foot quite comfortably now (I can't remember doing those kind of shots when I played before). I felt proud of it np ^_^.
What else what else...??? One more final thing I guess. I've proven to myself (yet again), that my left foot is my strongest for set pieces - which is weird, because I'm a righty. Today was not the first time I scored a curler with my left foot. Strange, but it is true. My left foot can bend the ball very smoothly, but whenever I tried to do it with my right, it never curls wtf -_-.

MYM Prime Defending #9 - http://www.mymym.com/en/coverage/434.html
Greatest online tournament ever, hands down! I always wait for the next version of Pride with enthusiasm because I like watching the high level replays - it's very entertaining to watch top teams play against each other (especially in the finals). Thinking of making a new team (or possibly joining, if someone wants me lalalal) because I find it hard to work with my previous team. Hmm.
